St. Joseph’s School, Jnana Jyothi joyfully celebrated the Sankranti in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. The school campus was beautifully decorated with colourful Rangoli, flowers, sugarcanes and traditional pots, reflecting the cultural richness and spirit of the harvest festival.

The programme began with a prayer song led by Saadhvi Haradur of class 3, invoking blessings and setting a devotional tone for the celebration. Ms.Anjali warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the significance of the festival.

A special address on the importance of Sankranti festival was delivered by the director of the school, Fr. Santhosh Fernandes, who explained the cultural, agricultural and traditional values associated with the festival and encouraged students to respect nature and the farmers.

The celebration was further enlivened by colourfull dance performances by students, showcasing joy, tradition and enthusiasm. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs.Joyita, expressing gratitude to all the participants and organisers.

The Sankranti celebration was a meaningful and enjoyable event that helped students understand and appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage.
